We Remember

By | Worship | No Comments

During this Covid time, we have lost some of our St. George Family and have not had an opportunity to celebrate their lives liturgically.

Join us in person or on Facebook for a special music and worship experience to remember and memorialize them.  The service will be on Sunday, May 30 during the 10 am worship service.

Our music ministry will offer some special music during this service.  And our Reception Ministry will provide refreshments following the service in our Courtyard.

Community of Hope Presentation

By | Called to Serve, Community, Fellowship | No Comments

For many weeks now, you have seen an announcement before our services, saying, “Let Community of Hope be of service” and, “trained lay chaplains are available.” Perhaps you have asked yourself, what is Community of Hope, what service does it offer, who are these trained lay chaplains, and what, exactly, do they do? On Sunday, June 6th, all of your questions will be answered. During the service, Pam Piedfort, facilitator of our local St. George “Center” of Community of Hope International (CoHI), and Andy Nodine, assistant facilitator, will give a presentation on Community of Hope. Pam will talk about how we apply the Benedictine Rule of Life on which CoHI is based, and Andy will explain the mission of CoHI, the ministry of the lay chaplains, and the opportunity for any who are called, to become lay chaplains. We look forward to talking with you!

New Young Adult Sunday School – YASS!!!

By | Adult Formation Class, Community | No Comments
Have you ever wondered who the disciples were? What they did before they followed Jesus? What characteristics they each had? What happened to them after Jesus died and rose again? Join Reverend Susan, in person, at St. George at 9:00 AM on Sundays starting April 25, for YASS!!! This is a class for “young adults” (College age to almost empty nesters). We will explore the lives of the disciples and learn more about the men who were closest to Jesus while He walked the Earth.
Childcare/Sunday school will be available for children and youth. If you have any questions, please email Rev. Susan at sburnham@saintgeorgechurch.org.

How can YOU be disciples for Jesus? Join us, in person, in the outdoor classroom of St. George, at 9:00 AM on Sundays, starting April 25, and find out!! This class is for children PreK-5th grade! Through interactive story-telling, creating meaningful art, and engaging in fun activities, we’ll learn what God is doing in the world around us, and how WE can join God in that work! We hope you’ll come and share God’s love with us! If you have any questions, please email Happy Wilson at hwilson@saintgeorgechurch.org.

Chain of Love 2021 has begun!

What is Chain of Love?

Chain of Love began 16 years ago as a way to demonstrate the impact our community was making on those around the world. Every dollar that is raised is represented by a domino that is then turned into a HUGE domino chain built by students. What started out as a chain of 3,500 dominoes has grown to over

32, 000! It is a visual way to see what we can do when we all join together to work towards a common goal.

Our partnership with St. Benoit in Mombin Crochu, Haiti began in 2009/2010. We were connected with them through The National Episcopal Church’s Haiti Partnership Program because of their incredible need. They are very remote and isolated, making the journey difficult to get there. They had no official buildings to call home. Mr. Devlin (along with the Hausman’s and Jennifer Wickham) made the visit in March of 2010 after a catastrophic earthquake. It was an incredible experience that solidified our desire to partner with the community of St. Benoit in Mombin Crochu, Haiti.

How can I be a Domino?

You can support this year’s Chain of Love by donating here online. Help us by spreading the word, one dollar and domino at a time.
